Objective:
To provide technical knowledge to professionals involved in Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, Warehousing, Foreign Trade, Trucking Transport, Shipping Agency, etc. on the negotiations and contract of ocean freight for Project Cargoes.

2. Points to consider when contracting ocean transport;
3. Information needed to search a vessel;
4. The ideal ship;
5. Explanation about loadline, ship tonnages, LOA, draft, airdraft, etc.;
6. Stowage implications (stability, stackweight, overstow, lashing, securing, etc.);
7. Terms and conditions of sea freight;
8. How to negotiate with carriers;
9. Simulation of a cargo negotiation;
10. Types of contracts (analysis and discussion of some clauses of the Conline BN and Gencon CP; and
11. Laytime calculation and variables:
a) Dispatch/demurrage
b) CQD / detention.
